A whiter, brighter smile is just around the corner
Teeth whitening is one of the most effective ways to boost your smile. Professional teeth whitening is completely safe, as the products we prescribe are highly regulated to ensure patient safety.
There are many reasons why teeth may not be as white as we would like them to be, including:
Natural staining from the foods and drinks we consume
Smoking
Ageing
Teeth whitening treatment will work to remove the stains that have built up over time, revealing a whiter, brighter smile that is completely natural.
Following a cosmetic consultation where we have listened to your smile goals and understood what you would like to achieve from your teeth whitening, we will take a digital impression on our scanner.
These will be sent to our lab who will create crystal clear, comfortable whitening trays that fit you perfectly.
We will book you in for an appointment to collect your new whitening trays and gels at the same time. During this appointment we will explain how much gel to put in your trays and how long you should wear them for. We will also take clinical photographs using a shade guide to record your start shade.
You will carry out your teeth whitening treatment at home, as directed by your dentist. If you are unsure of anything you can always phone us during our opening hours – we will be happy to answer any questions you might have! Most patients reach their desired shade after 14 days of continuous use, although many will see a difference after just a few days.
After two weeks, we will see you for a review appointment to check your shade in comparison to your original clinical images. Your dentist will advise whether you should continue to whiten your teeth at home.
Our patients deserve the best, which is why we provide Enlighten Teeth Whitening at Treehouse Dental
There are many different professional teeth whitening systems available and, naturally, we only want to provide our patients with the very best. The Treehouse Dental team have personally tried and tested a range of brands, which led us to discover that not all systems are equal.
For us, Enlighten Whitening provides superior results, which is why we exclusively offer this system here at Treehouse Dental. With Enlighten, we can guarantee that your smile will reach B1, which is the lightest naturally occurring tooth shade. Not only will you reach this shade, we have also found that results last much longer, so you can enjoy your new whiter shade without the need to top it up as often.
We are so passionate about the effectiveness of this whitening system that we have been given the status of being an Enlighten Whitening Regional Centre of Excellence.

Non-vital whitening is a special technique that provides the perfect solution
Sometimes a tooth, or teeth, can darken after a root canal treatment. This is because the tooth is classed as ‘non-vital’, as the nerve inside is no longer alive. The great news is that the tooth will still be strong and functional, the problem only lies with the way it looks.
The great news is that we can treat this problem with a technique called non-vital teeth whitening. Rather than whitening in the usual way by applying gel to the surface of tooth, we instead apply it to the inside of the tooth, or the back of the tooth. This can only be carried out by your dentist during an in-practice appointment.
The results of non-vital whitening become apparent a few days after your appointment, although some cases may require more than one treatment to remove all of the dark colour. During your initial consultation your dentist will be able to explain how many sessions they believe will be needed.
This does vary from patient to patient and will be determined by lifestyle factors such as diet and habits like smoking that cause natural staining. As a general rule, most patients like to top up their teeth whitening every 6 months using a single refresher syringe of gel.
Teeth whitening prescribed by a dental professional within a dental practice is completely safe. The products we use are subject to strict regulation to ensure patient safety. Only professional teeth whitening kits contain the active ingredients – hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide – at a level that is both effective enough to achieve results and safe.
No. Teeth whitening treatment will only whiten natural teeth. Any dental restorations will not change shade and you may find that you will need to replace old crowns, veneers, or composite bonding to match your new, whiter shade.
No. By law, teeth whitening can only be prescribed by a dental professional. For your safety and peace of mind that the products you are using are safe and effective, always see a dental professional.
