You then meet with our treatment coordinator in a non-clinical setting. They will discuss your medical and dental history and go through a smile questionnaire to help us get an understanding of your concerns and build a picture of your requirements.
You will then meet your cosmetic dentist in the dental surgery who will advise how teeth whitening can benefit your smile. We can scan your teeth to take a digital impression during this appointment so that your whitening trays can be made, should you wish to go ahead with treatment.
If you decide that teeth whitening is for you, our treatment coordinator will provide any further information you may require and book your next appointment here in Crouch End. We will send your digital impressions to our lab who will make your bespoke whitening trays.
Once your whitening trays have come back from the lab, you will come to Treehouse Dental so that we can explain how your whitening treatment works. We will demonstrate how much gel you should put in your trays and how long they should be worn for. We will also take clinical photographs using a shade guide to record your start shade.
As your teeth whitening treatment is carried out at home, we will see you for a review appointment after two weeks to check your shade in comparison to your original clinical images. Your dentist will advise whether you should continue to whiten your teeth at home.

You will carry out your teeth whitening treatment at home, as directed by your dentist. If you are unsure of anything you can always phone us during our opening hours – we will be happy to answer any questions you might have! Most patients reach their desired shade after 14 days of continuous use, although many will see a difference after just a few days.
After two weeks, we will see you for a review appointment to check your shade in comparison to your original clinical images. Your dentist will advise whether you should continue to whiten your teeth at home.

Non-vital whitening is a special technique that provides the perfect solution
Sometimes a tooth, or teeth, can darken after a root canal treatment. This is because the tooth is classed as ‘non-vital’, as the nerve inside is no longer alive. The great news is that the tooth will still be strong and functional, the problem only lies with the way it looks.
The great news is that we can treat this problem with a technique called non-vital teeth whitening. Rather than whitening in the usual way by applying gel to the surface of tooth, we instead apply it to the inside of the tooth, or the back of the tooth. This can only be carried out by your dentist during an in-practice appointment.
The results of non-vital whitening become apparent a few days after your appointment, although some cases may require more than one treatment to remove all of the dark colour. During your initial consultation your dentist will be able to explain how many sessions they believe will be needed.
